Daredevils

I dont normally let my kids jump on the couch or jump off of it but I was playing with my camera's action settings.

Porter isn't afraid of anything and loves to jump or if I dont stop him first he will fall backwards off the couch arm into the cushions.

Ruby follows Porter's example and thinks she is really brave too!

But at the last minute, thank goodness, she chickened out!

Shoes

Ruby loves wearing other peoples shoes. Lately her obsession has been with a pair of my heels. She can walk really well in them and likes to push her baby stroller while she wears them. The other morning I woke up to the click click click of my heels on the kitchen floor. So cute!

Beautiful Hair

Ruby has been blessed with hair. Sometimes it drives me crazy but I really love her beautiful long locks. I bought myself a straightener for Christmas and I have been practicing making ringlets and curls in Ruby's hair.

Lucky she is willing to let me brush and pull on her hair most of the time. I think she likes the pampering because for anything else she would not sit still.
Or maybe she is just use to it because she has never known anything else.

Haircut

I have been wanting to dye my hair for months now but I was afraid that I wouldn't like it or that I wouldn't be able to do the upkeep. I was really ready for a change in my hair but I liked my length and general style so I had no other options but to dye it. I was nervous but I really really like it. Its fun just doing something different.

We came home and I had Porter take some pictures of me since Shanette had just styled my hair and she always does it better then I could.
After my photo shoot by Porter he wanted to get his picture taken so we did a few shots of him. He is so cute and did a great job taking my picture so maybe he has a future in photography or modeling!

Halloween in January

My sister, Trisha, was here visiting this weekend and she helped me do some cleaning and a lot of laundry. While we were cleaning the playroom she saw Porter and Ruby's halloween costumes and wanted to dress up my kids. I had been needing to put them in their costumes since halloween because I was so busy with my ward party that my in-laws got my kids dressed before the party and had them in jammies before I got home from the party so I never had a chance to take pictures.
Porter was a pirate and I love his costume because I made it!!! I have always wanted to make a costume for him but never had the time. I was so excited that I actually finished the project and I think it looks pretty stinkin good!
Ruby was a duck. My Mom found this costume last year for a such a deal. I love the big puffy costumes for little kids because they are so squishy.
My little duck had a meltdown while getting her picture taken because we tried to get her to backup for a full body shot and apparently she didn't want to move.

The DS

Kids love playing the DS. It is mine and I would never buy Porter one because he would ruin if he was allowed to run wild with it. Kyle came over to play today and we really dont get to see him that much so the boys had a lot of fun playing.
The boys wanted to play Ben 10, which is Porter's game and I have no idea what the point is other then fighting aliens. Anyway they were playing very nicely and taking turns, but mostly Porter playing and Kyle watching. I looked at them and their heads where smashed together so they both could see so I took some pictures of them.
Leilani and I have had fun taking pictures of the boys over the years and hopefully one day they will still be friends when they are in high school.

Holiday Crackers

Last year my now brother-in-law Palmer came to CA for Christmas to meet all of us. We told him we wanted to do something that his family did for the holidays. Palmer's mom, Julie, is from England and they would open these crackers as the dinner table. I had never heard of these before and they are not the crackers you eat they are these things that you pull apart and they make a popping noise and inside is a crown, a toy, and a joke or fortune.
We had told my Mom to buy the crackers but she didn't because they were too much money. Luckily they had them at Michaels on sale after Christmas.
We opened them New Years Eve after dinner. Parker was terrified of the noise so Lacy opened his for him.
We took pictures of us wearing the hats but the kids would not cooperate, especially Ruby. My Mom kept trying to get the kids to look at the camera so between her and the kids we didn't get one good picture, but at least we tried.
Then we took silly pictures wearing our crowns.
We took all of our crowns over to my Grandma's to show her what was in the crackers and we decided to put a crown on her and take some more pictures.
I even made Sam put a crown on for a picture.
