We have had a really slow week so I haven't had anything exciting to post. Porter has been asserting his independence which frustrates me to no end but I will post more about that later. So I was bored and decided to make Ruby a sweater jacket thing. This is my prototype:
In my head it turned out fancier then in real life. I am trying to think of more things to add or ways to make it cuter. The first day she wore it some ladies asked me if I made it which is not what I want, I want it to look good enough that you can't tell it is homemade. My only problem now is that Ruby is the only one who I can make the sweaters for and they dont have baby hoodies which is what I really wanted to use and she really doesn't need a million sweaters.

oh bummer it won't let me click on the pics so I can see them bigger! It looks cute though, if you are super bored you can always work on the calendar or fix our family pics so we can print some!!
Hey Krista, it was a surprise and fun to get a comment from you on my blog, I really wasn't sure if anyone looked at it. Love your blog by the way!
Wow -I had no idea you were so domestic!!
Go krista!! You're a much better mom than I for even THINKING of making your kids cute stuff.
by the way, I left you a voicemail the other day...I need your address..Link is waiting!
thanks for calling and directing my attention to your new header, it is absoluetly adorable!! I might just take you up on sending some pics for you to work on for me. More practice for you, right? I wish we lived closer and could learn all this together! I need to start playing around more with my adobe elements!
way cute new look krista! I love it.
First, I'd like to say that I sympathize with you (and Ruby) in that any time I EVER had a new dress people would either say, "Oh, did your mom make that?" Then when I was a teenager I started sewing my own dresses and people always asked if I made it (hey, you were probably one of those people!). The biggest compliment I ever got was when Amy Boyer told me it looked like I got my dress from Nordstrom (of course I didn't). Now that I'm older and OH SO MUCH more mature, I think homemade things are way better than store-bought things. Especially for babies and kids.
Oh, and that sweater is really, really cute.
Next, I have to tell you how cute your kids are. They are ADORABLE! Our two boys are almost the same age! Alexander was born 11/15/04. You're ahead of me on the second kid, though. I'm having my second this May (2008).
P.S. Here's our family blog
