I bought this chair at the DI for $10. It was a nice wooden chair with a boring cream stripped seat. I made it mine own by painting it black and recovering the seat. I spent hours, days outside freezing and sanding the chair. First I had to sand off the orginal finish and then I found out I needed to sand between each layer of paint and varathane. I probably should have painted one more layer of paint and varathane but I love it and I was impatient to see it all back together.
I wanted a very large graphic red/white print but it didn't happen so I had to settle for this black/white print with red upholstered buttons. I wish I thought of taking a before picture because it was pretty boring.
I couldn't take a picture without one of my kids jumping in front of the camera and saying cheese.

Thanks for the new blog and I think the readers of my blog will be thanking you too! I love the colors!
PS I love the new hair!!
Love the chair and love the advice! thankfully our plates aren't sticking to our bumpy table. Who knew verathane could be so wonderful. I am now going to verathane my whole house, or at least my entry table! Thanks for the help.
You are so creative Krista. Love the new darker hair. I don't love mine, but that's ok, it's good to try new things, right?
